Abstract

Quality in a rehabilitation-restoration-preservation plan of modern architecture, has a complexity linked to the complex nature of an existent building and its values, both the research and the control of it. So we must take into account morphology, functionality, technological elements and try in preserving the existent values of the building, both historical and architectonical. It is necessary to basing a rehabiltation plan on the deep knowledge of the building and its history. The aim of the paper is to illustrate the specific case of residential buildings in Palermo, which were strongly modified during the last ten years, with deep care for the quality aspects of the project. The main object of the research is to deep methodologies for achieve quality in rehabilitation\restoration plan, respectful of the existent “qualities” of the buildings, based on careful knowledge of the building itself.
