Abstract

In recent decades Italian historiography has been enriched by new research that has allowed us to understand the functioning of the Spanish Monarchy in the Modern Age.In particular, studies carried out on political actors who built their careers in the Mediterranean and Atlantic areas have highlighted how we can reconstruct a connected history that, starting from the individual experiences, gives due attention to both the circulation of knowledge and the relations at the local level.
